It’s time for the kids to go back to school and I’ve been trying to come up with some new ideas for things to pack in their lunches. I tried this Zesty Italian Wrap recipe out over the weekend and it was a success! My boys and my husband loved it. It is definitely going on the lunch rotation list.
We recently became fans of Italian Sub Sandwiches toasted in the oven, but since that isn’t possible for when they go to school, I thought a wrap would be a fun way to still enjoy the flavors of the Italian meats and provolone cheese. I made this with a regular flour tortilla, but a spinach, whole-wheat, or a sun-dried tomato wrap would work just as well. It would be just as delicious made with flatbread, in a pita pocket, or on any kind of bread.
I like using a wrap for boxed lunches because it is so easy and convenient to eat. When I am making a wrap to pack in a lunch box, I roll it up as tightly as possible and wrap it in plastic wrap. This keeps the wrap secure holds all the contents in place until its time to eat so it doesn’t get soggy.
